Dalston LTN

We are campaigning for a Dalston LTN, in the area with boundary by Kingsland Road, Dalston Lane, and Amhurst Road.

As local residents, we are developing possible plans that we would like to see implemented by the Council. We have discussed several possible options, and are keen to discuss these with the Council to consider which may work best for the area.

A petition for the introduction of filters in the Sandringham Road area has been set up by local residents: sign here!.

Interested in getting involved? Get in touch below and it would be great to discuss!

Two options for Daltson LTN

We have developed two options for the east Dalston area. All streets remain open and all properties remain accessible by motor vehicles, but it's not possible to drive between one colour and another in the plans.

The benefits of the Dalston LTN would include:
  • reduced through motor traffic, with the associated benefits to safety and health
  • slower motor traffic speeds throughout the area
  • improved routes to travel to Jack Petchy Academy, primary schools and nurseries
  • improved 236 bus times through the often busy junction at Ridley Road / Dalston Lane junction
  • no impact on deliveries to Ridley Road as motor vehicles would still be able to access the market.

Two options for a Dalston LTN are presented below. Option A is smaller and does not include Shacklewell Lane. The filters on Sandringham Road and Colvestone Crescent are diagonal filters, allowing turns, but no straight-ahead movements.

Option B is the same as the first option, with the addition of a bus gate on Shacklewell Lane. This is a more ambitious scheme that would achieve more than Option A. Option B may be brought in immediately, or as a longer term option. Perhaps both could be put forwards as a starting point for discussion.
